Terms of Service

Plain-language terms for using ShipRight. We've tried to make this readable — not just legally defensible.

Acceptance

By creating a ShipRight account, you agree to these terms. If you're signing up on behalf of a company, you represent that you have authority to bind that company.

ShipRight is provided by [ShipRight, registered in the EU]. These terms are governed by EU law.

/ 02

What ShipRight does

ShipRight reads your GitHub repositories (with your explicit permission via GitHub OAuth) and runs automated security, legal, billing, monitoring, and launch-readiness checks. It produces findings, scores, fix prompts, and optionally draft documents (privacy policy, terms of service, .env.example).

ShipRight uses AI (Anthropic's Claude) to analyze your code. AI-generated findings may contain false positives. ShipRight is a tool to help you identify issues — it does not guarantee that your code is secure, legally compliant, or production-ready after using it.

/ 03

Your responsibilities

You may only audit repositories you own or have explicit permission to audit. You may not use ShipRight to audit code without the owner's consent.

You are responsible for reviewing all findings before acting on them. You are responsible for any changes you make to your codebase based on ShipRight's suggestions.

You may not attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or abuse ShipRight's API. You may not use ShipRight to generate findings for competitive intelligence against other companies' private repositories.

/ 04

Free tier and paid plans

The Free tier gives you 1 project and 1 scan per month at no cost, indefinitely. We reserve the right to rate-limit or suspend accounts that abuse the free tier.

Paid plans are billed monthly or annually. Prices are shown on the pricing page and are in EUR (€). You can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel at any time from your billing settings.

Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not offer prorated refunds for partial periods, except where required by law. If you're unsatisfied within your first 7 days on a paid plan, contact us for a full refund.

/ 05

Data and IP

You retain all ownership of your code and the findings ShipRight generates from it. ShipRight does not claim any intellectual property over your repositories or the documents generated on your behalf.

You grant ShipRight a limited, revocable license to access your repositories solely to provide the audit service. This license ends when you disconnect a repository or delete your account.

Anonymized, aggregated data (e.g., "X% of audited apps are missing rate limiting") may be used to improve our product and publish research. Individual findings are never shared without your consent.

/ 06

Service availability

We aim for 99.5% monthly uptime. We do not guarantee availability and are not liable for losses due to downtime.

We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service with reasonable notice. For paid plan users, we'll give at least 30 days notice before discontinuing the service entirely.

/ 07

Limitation of liability

ShipRight is provided "as is." To the maximum extent permitted by law, we exclude all implied warranties. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of ShipRight.

Our total liability for any claim arising from these terms is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months preceding the claim.

/ 08

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We'll notify paid users by email at least 14 days before material changes take effect. If you don't agree with the changes, you can cancel your account before they take effect.

Continued use after changes means you accept the new terms.
